Shasta-Trinity National Forest officials have issued a Forest Closure Order for the area of the Elkhorn Fire which is now burning in the southern portion of the forest. This closure order closes the portion of the Shasta-Trinity National Forest south of Highway 36 and east of Forest Road 30 (No. 29N30) for public safety. The closure prohibits public entry to the area, its roads and trails. The closure area includes Forest Roads 30, 35, 45 and their spurs, Post Creek Lookout, and Basin Gulch, White Rock and Tomhead Saddle Campgrounds. Trailheads within the closure area include: Stuart Gap, West Low Gap, Rat Trap Gap and Tomhead Saddle.
