THE SLATER FIRE THAT BROKE OUT EARLIER TODAY NEAR SLATER BUTTE LOOKOUT, HAS GROWN TO NEARLY A THOUSAND ACRES, AND  FORCED THE EVACUATION OF THE COMMUNITY OF  HAPPY CAMP, PLUS THE CLOSURE OF EASTBOUND STATE ROUTE 96 FIVE MILES SOUTH OF TOWN, AND WEST BOUND, THREE MILES FROM SEAID VALLEY.

BUTTE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE HAS ORDERED MANDATORY EVACUATIONS FOR FEATHER FALLS AND CLIPPER MILLS AREAS DUE TO THE BEAR FIRE IN PLUMAS COUNTY, WHICH IS ENCROACHING ON BUTTE COUNTY.

IF YOU’RE TRAVELING TO OREGON, I5 NORTH IS CLOSED IN ASHLAND FROM EXIT 14 TO EXIT 24 IN PHOENIX OREGON, DUE TO FIRE.

MORE EVACUATIONS ARE ORDERED IN PLUMAS COUNTY, FROM THE FIRE COMPLEX THAT HAS BEEN RAGING THERE FOR WEEKS.
