Elton John has released “Regimental Sgt. Zippo,” a previously unheard track recorded in 1968. Penned alongside his longtime collaborator Bernie Taupin, “Regimental Sgt. Zippo” finds John in “full ’60s psychedelic mode.” The song’s structure, vocal harmonies and arrangement feel heavily influenced by the Beatles, a connection confirmed by the song’s accompanying press release.
