Psycho (Original)
The film that made generations scared to get into the shower!
Hitchcock at his best, with a story that shocked the world and what would become maybe the greatest horror/suspense film of all time.
When you look at Halloween, Friday The 13th, etc, you have to realize that it all started with this film!
The sequels and re-makes of the film are sad, like most film franchises, the first one is always the best!

Night Of The Living Dead (Original)
First released in the late 60's, Night Of The Living Dead was the first real zombie movie.
Directed by George Romero and made for nothing, this film has played all over the world and has shocked movie goers for close to 40 years now.
It's in black and white, so that takes away from the gore, but it's an effective thriller that is a must see for and zombie movie fan!
It's the king of the crop...

Dawn Of The Dead (Original)
It took George Romero over 10 years to make the sequel to Night Of The Living Dead and it was worth the wait!
The Un-dead go shopping at the mall in this 1979 classic!
Lot's of blood (thanks to make up wiz and my hero Tom Savini) and an underlying social commentary, make this film a must watch for any horror fan.
The film was released un-rated, which meant that no one under the age of 17 could see it, but I just paid to see Heaven Can Wait and snuck into it!

Grindhouse: Death Proof & Planet Terror
In 2007, two icons of new filmmaking teamed up to make a tribute to all those crappy explotation films of the 70's and what Tarrintino and Rodriguez came up with was Grindhouse!
It was two movies for the price of one and even included bogus movie previews!
I enjoyed Planet Terror much more than Death Proof, but they are both pretty cool.

Shaun Of The Dead
There have been a lot of comedy spoofs of horror films over the years, this one might rank at the top.
Shaun is good hearted fellow who enjoys a pint at the pub and being with his friends. Things go wrong when the dead awake and Shaun finds himself an unlikely hero as he attempts to save the group from unspeakable doom!
Very funny with some jolts thrown in for good measure!

Seven
This is a film that I can watch over and over again!
Directed by David Fincher, the story follows two detectives that are investigating a series of ritualistic murders inspired by the seven deadly sins.
It has everything, great acting, it's a visual feast and the story is something that only the sickest mind could come up with!
In short, it might be the most disturbing film of all time.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Original)
Tobe Hooper directed this film in the early 70's and deserves a lot of credit for what would come out in this genre for the next 20 years.
Like Halloween, there is really no gore, but it is shot in a way that really puts the viewer in a frantic state of mind.
Leatherface and his family of canibals are very happy in Texas, but the dogs gotta eat, so when strangers come a callin', it's time for the chainsaw boogie!

28 Days Later.....Very Scary!
Directed by Danny Boyle, 28 Days Later is an amazing horror film that takes a more violent approach to the Zombie Epic.
The story concerns the Rage Virus and it's destuction of England.
After the virus is released and everyone goes nuts, it's up to a small band of survivors to keep alive and try to find the cure to infection.
I love Zombie movies and this one ranks right up there with the best of them!

From Dusk Till Dawn
This is really kind of a horror/comedy/road flick, which features an all star cast for horror films.
Some very good acting, great writing and some awesome sfx make this film a ton of fun.
Two brother's are on the run from the law, they take hosteges and end up fighting for their lives against vampires in Mexico!
Look for my hero Tom Savini in the role of "Sex Machine"!

28 Weeks Later
After the success of 28 Days Later, you just knew the Rage Virus would continue to plague England.
This story picks up 7 months after the first film and the infected have all died from starvation, so the reconstruction of London begins under what else, a heavy U.S. Military presence.
But like to many of our endevors of this type, it's doomed to fail....
The opening of the movie is one of the most intense set of sceens ever caught on film!

Friday The 13th (Original)
After Halloween was a smash hit, every hack in Hollywood decided to make a slasher flick and Friday The 13th was one of the best.
Camp Crystal Lake was the site of some nasty events some years earlier, well the place has "gotta death curse", so before to long, the bodies start falling left and right.
They really went to town with these films, something like 10 sequels and a new re-make is set to released soon!

Halloween (Original)
The whole slasher movie craze of the 80's got started when a little known director named John Carpenter made a movie based on a story called "The Babysitter Murders", the result, the classic Halloween!
Michael Myers is on the rampage and Jamie Lee Curtis is what he is after.
Despite being the king of the slasher flicks, there is really no blood. It's all about texture and mood.
Carpenter's soundtrack is a highlight!

Turistas Starring The Sexy Mellisa George
Ok, I admit the movie really is not that good or even that scary or shocking, but it does have one nessesery componate for an enjoyable movie experience and that is the smokin' hot Mellisa George!
This film is about a group of back packers who's vacation turns sour when a bus accident leaves them stranded in a remote part of Brazil that holds a nasty little secret.
The previews claimed Turistas was "scarier than Hostel", not true, but the film is worth sitting through because of Mellisa and some great shots of Brazil.

The Howling
This is the very last film they played at the old Starlight drive-in in Chico and I remember being there like it was yesterday!
A group of my friends, some girls and some cheap beer made for a great night back in the 80's!
The film concerns a group of werewolves who are trying to fit in with normal society, but killing cows to feed, just is not the same as chowing down on some hot, half naked victim.
Carnage follows to say the least....

Hostel
Director Eli Roth has become one of the new kings of horror and he first came to my attention with a film called Cabin Fever.
His next movie Hostel, set a new standard for gore and hot chicks getting naked!
It's the story of backpackers in Europe getting caught up in a torture ring after they smoke lot's of pot in Amsterdam.
Check it out if you have not and make sure it's the un-rated version!

Hostel 2
With any great horror film, there is almost always a sequel and Eli Rothh came through with a film that is at least as good as the first one and in many ways is a much better film overall.
This time around it's a group of girls that get involved with the torture ring and in this film you get more of an inside view into how this whole thing is run and who would pay to torture and kill complete strangers.
Not as much nudity as the first one, but overall the gore is taken up a notch, so that kind of makes up for it!

30 Days Of Night
My sweet thing, Mellisa George is back in action and this time it's against the scariest Vampires ever caught on film.
The bloodsuckers show up in Barrow, Alaska which goes through 30 Days Of Night every year and the remaining town folk go to battle!
Once the Vampires are taken care of, the survivors have to battle another supernatural evil, Gov. Sarah Palin!
